EXCURSION OVERVIEW and what we explore:

Leaving Marrakech behind, we will travel along a paved route via little settlements dotting the plain. Soon after, you will reach the beaches of Lake Lalla Takerkoust, where you should take a short pause to take in the view before beginning the rise to the desolate Kik Plateau.

Now is the time to get your cameras! The route is bordered with the ruins of former Pacha-owned Kasbahs. The 1,800-meter-high limestone plateau offers 360-degree vistas and, in the spring, a magnificent display of alpine flowers. From November to May, the adjacent Atlas Mountain peaks are visible. On the other side of the plateau is the charming town of Moulay Brahim with its shrine, where ladies from all across the region come to pray for baraka by lighting candles.

GUIDED EXCURSION.

Driving farther to Asni, where a significant Berber souk is held every Saturday and where local farmers sell their food and cattle.

We will continue driving to Imlil. Beginning in Imlil, you travel with your guide to the village of Aremd (1900 meters). On the journey, you will pass ancient Berber settlements and Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa (4167 meters). With the winter, Toubkal will be blanketed in snow, making it a stunning sight to behold from a distance. After approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, you will proceed to a small guesthouse for a delicious lunch. From here, there is a breathtaking view of the Mizane Valley. After lunch, it will take thirty minutes to return to Imlil. Return transport to Marrakech. Guide and lunch can be paid locally.
